No reports of overpricing: Mutton Dealer Gen Secy
Srinagar: Amid the holy month of Ramadan, the mutton dealers here have stated that a sufficient stock of mutton was available in the Valley while fresh supplies are arriving on regular basis.
Mehraj-ud-Din, General Secretary of the Mutton Dealers Association informed that around 30 to 35 trucks loaded with sheep arrive in Kashmir every day, each carrying approximately 140 to 150 sheep.
“The stocks are sufficient in the Valley, and people are purchasing good-quality mutton. Supplies continue to arrive regularly,” he said.Din further added that the price of mutton remains stable at Rs 700 per kg, with no complaints of overpricing reported so far.
“The price of mutton has been steady, and we have not received any complaints about overcharging,” he said.It is worth mentioning that last year, during Ramadan had reported fluctuations in mutton prices due to a surge in demand, with over 800 truckloads of sheep consumed in the Valley—(KNO)
