Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir on Wednesday said that situation in Kashmir is not conducive for holding elections.Addressing a press conference after the party’s core group meet, Mir said the Panchayat and Municipal polls were declared in the state without taking a stock of the situation on the ground.“The Central government and administration should clear their stand in front of the people of J&K whether they want to conduct elections or is it just a gimmick,” Mir said.On Tuesday JKPCC delegation led by Mir has shared concerns with the Governor Satya Pal Malik over the upcoming Panchayat and Urban Local Bodies (ULB) polls in the state.National Conference and the PDP have announced to boycott the polls.
