Baramulla: An eight-day old militant was killed in a brief shoot out with the government forces at Shutloo village of Rafiabad in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday afternoon.
According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a joint team of 32 RR, and SOG Hadipora intercepted the militants following specific information during a naka at Shutlu village of Rafiabad.
“As the forces intensified searches, hiding militants in the area opened fire on security forces leading to the gunfight which is going on when last reports came,” an official said. The slain militant was identified as Mudasir Ahamd Bhat son of Sanullah Bhat of Shutloo, Rafiabad who had joined militancy just eight days ago. The army also tweeted on its official twitter handle stating, “Op Shutalu (#Baramulla). One militant killed. Weapons and warlike stores recovered. Operation over.”
Jammu and Kashmir police also confirmed the killing of one militant on its twitter handle stating that slain was affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit— (KNO)
