Srinagar: Panthers Party president Harshdev Singh Tuesday alleged that a delegation from his party led by him was denied a meeting with the visiting Election Commission of India (ECI), which is on a two-day visit to Srinagar for review preparations for parliamentary elections.
“Despite having a formal invitation, the policemen posted outside the venue didn’t allow them to inside,” said Harshdev Singh while displaying the invitation letter to the media outside the SKICC.
Singh alleged that the Election Commission of India is dancing to the tunes of BJP led Central Government.
Despite allegations from the Panthers Party the ECI team today headed by chief election commissioner Rajiv Kumar met representatives of the National Conference, PDP, BJP, and CPIM.
The team also held meetings with deputy commissioners and police chiefs of the 10 districts of Kashmir Valley. [KNT]
