DSEK issues showcase notice to coaching center violating quota rules

SRINAGAR: Taking a strong note of the news story filed by the Press Trust of Kashmir regarding complains f parents against the coaching center for charging fees to the students falling under reserved quota as per government order, Director School education Kashmir (DSEK) today issues show-cause notice to coaching center.

The order reads that in view of the complaints the heads of the private coaching centre (HOPE classes Parrypora & WAVE institute Parrypora) are directed to show-cause as to why the registration of their coaching centres shall not be terminated forthwith besides, they are directed to refund fee, if any collected from such students immediately.

The order further reads that the reply to this show-cause notice shall reach this office within three dayspositively failing which it shall be presumed that they have nothing to say in their defence and action as warranted under rules shall follow without any further notice.

Pertinently few days Press trust of Kashmir filed a news report regarding charging of fees to the students of reserved quota by a private coaching center (Wave institute and HOPE tuition Parrypora).

The parents, guardians of the students who have been selected by educational department alleged private coaching centre forced them to pay Rs 5000 per students illegally.

They said that instead of clear instructions from Directorate of School Education Kashmir (Copy of which is available with PTK), the Head of the WAVE institution is reluctant to obey the said orders.

Meanwhile while talking to Chairman Coaching Centres’ Association G. N. Var he said that if that is free that means free. He told PTK that if that is free they can’t take a single rupees from students.

Var added that if students face such problem again they must come to his office adding that they are most welcome anytime or they can directly contact director education.

When contacted director WAVE an Institute he said that the allegation by parents and students are baseless. He added, “We have 1030 students enrolled in over tuition centre among I have to take a quota of 10% that means 103 but I have more than 200 students in my tuition centre who are being provided free tuitions under 10% quote.

He said that they have provided 30% of reservation not 10%. He added, “We are going to make some rules over it”.

He further told that Director Education Kashmir send as the list of selected students but they all belongs to high families adding that they have already selected those needy and deserving students. (PTK)
