SRINAGAR: Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Wednesday pitched for the unanimous and coordinated from society’s responsible voices to free the state from the lethal menace of drug abuse.
Interacting with several youth delegations here, Kadfeen said that the prevalence of drug abuse in the state has touched the alarming phase and that if concrete measures aren’t taken at the war footing basis, it will turn the situation catastrophic and unthinkable for the coming generations.
He stressed that there should be coordinated efforts put forth by the society’s eminent and responsible voices so that the initiatives against the drug abuse could take shape of a peoples movement and the younger generation is saved from getting slipped into the apocalypse.
He also urged the government to take concrete measures and maintain a strong vigil on the influx of various drugs into the state. “The government cannot escape from its responsibility. It has to see how these poisonous substances manage their entry into the state even when the government claims to have put in place a strong system of surveillance,” said Kadfeen and demanded stern punishment to those involved in drug peddling so that a strong message is sent out to those who are hell bent to clip the wings of state’s younger generations and stop them from scouring the enchanting lands.
