Appeals authorities to give time frame in case of any deficiency

Srinagar : After district administration Srinagar on Wednesday sealed four shops as they failed to produce necessary documents, trade bodies have appealed to the authorities to give a time frame, in case of any deficiency in documentation rather than sealing the business establishments.

President Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCC&I), Sheikh Ashiq told that the businesses in the valley have recently opened, after facing back-to-back lockdowns. “However, if there are any deficiencies in any necessary documentation for any business establishment, a time frame should be given to meet the requirements.”

He said that the trade and business was just opening, while the business owners have just started summing up their business, and rather than healing, the authorities have started sealing the shops.

He further said that they don’t deny that there may be some deficiency in documentation, but the government must show a humanistic approach and understand the pain they have gone through over the last two years.

Earlier, a team of Revenue department headed by sub-district magistrate Srinagar, conducted market checking and implementation of Covid related guidelines at Lal Chowk and during the drive, four prominent shops, located in the commercial hub were sealed after they failed to produce documents.

The shops include Right Way Shoe shop, Samsung Time Zone, Madras Cloth House and Diplaz Ice Cream—(KNO)
