Handwara : A doctor in North Kashmir’s Handwara town has filed a police complaint against the owner of a Nursing Home for allegedly using his name and prescriptions to mint money from the naïve patients while he was outside country.
Dr Shafqat was doing private practice at a Nursing Home in Handwara till 2018 and after that he left for Dubai. “The patients who don’t know me used to come in the Nursing Home and ironically the owner of the Nursing Home was masquerading as Dr Shafqat, prescribing medicines to them on my behalf and thus was befooling them,” he told KNT.
He said all these months the owner of the Nursing Home befooled people and minted money from them. “When I came to know about this shoddy practice, I returned to Valley and interacted with those patients who have been looted by the Nursing Home owner,” he said adding that strict action needs to be taken against the culprit.
“I have proof to prove my claim and I won’t spare people who play with the lives of people for sake of money,” he said.
Dr Shafqat said that he lodged a complaint at Police Station Handwara but so for no FIR has been lodged against the accused.
When contacted, Station House Officer Handwara said that only senior officer can talk on the issue. SDPO, Handwara feigned ignorance about the complaint and said he doesn’t know anything about it. (KNT)
