Dismal performance in class 12 results, DC Bandipora says will make necessary improvements

Bandipora, Feb 09 (KNO): As some schools in the north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday has records dismal performance in class 12 results, the deputy commissioner Bandipora on Wednesday said that wherever there is a need for improvement, the district administration will do the same for welfare of students.

According to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), talking to reporters, the DC Bandipora Owais Ahmad said that regarding the class 12th result they have asked the CO office for the detailed report following which the improvement will be done wherever needed.

He said that the teacher’s performances will be closely monitored in the future while children’s performances will also be taken into consideration from time to time and at the same time parent teacher interaction will also be improved through which parents will also know how the system is running.

The DC also added that further steps would be taken after a detailed review. “In our district, such disappointing results in 12th grade have not been witnessed. It is also true that the students have appeared in the top ten list,” he said.

Owais said it was a challenging time for students during the COVID-19 disease while there was no internet connectivity in several remote areas of the district and in spite of that, good pass percentage was seen in the district.

“Further improvement is needed for which we will work on this year,” he concluded.

On Tuesday, the Government Higher Secondary School at Kilshey village in Gurez Valley has recorded zero percent pass percentage as the school had five students enrolled in the 12th class with Arts stream and all of them have failed to clear the annual examination.

Furthermore, many other schools in the district also witnessed low performance in the 12th grade results after which people have criticized the administration

Also only four students from Bandipora have made it to the merit list of 354 students announced by the board which clearly indicates the dismal performance—(KNO)
