Bhaderwah : Authorities on Monday morning relaxed curfew in the entire Bhaderwah town of Chenab valley three days after witnessing improvement in situation.
A police official however told KNO that prohibitory orders will remain in force to maintain law and order.
“The relaxation in curfew was earlier announced from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m but was later extended till 3 p.m,” an official told KNO.
Policemen were seen making rounds of the town to announce relaxation of the curfew and asked people to resume their normal activities.
However, eyewitnesses told KNO that most of the shops and business establishments remained closed and only private vehicles were seen plying on roads.
People in some areas complained to KNO that they were facing of shortage of vegetables, milk and ration. They also demanded that ATMs be made operational immediately as they are running out of cash.
District Magistrate Doda, Dr Sagar told KNO that prohibitory orders under section 144 CrPC would remain in force in the entire town as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order.
DGP Dil Bagh Singh also visited Bhaderwah and held a meeting with prominent citizens of both communities at Dak Banglow, Bhaderwah . (KNO)
