COVID: Death toll reaches 668 as 13 more die in J&K

Srinagar : Thirteen more patients who were tested positive for COVID-19 died in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, thus taking the toll of deaths due to the virus to 668 in the Union Territory.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that 13 patients who died include a 60-year-old man from Padshahi Bagh, a 60-year-old woman from Litter Pulwama, a 50-year-old man from Shampora Nowhatta, a 61-year-old woman from Rainawari, a 65-year-old man from Narbal Budgam, a 70-year-old man from Fateh Kadal Srinagar, a 75-year-old man from Sagam Kokernag, a 75-year-old man from Panzer Shopian, a 55-year-old man from Panzath Qazigund, a 70-year-old man from Rajouri, a 62-year-old man from New Plot Jammu, a 58-year-old man from Nagbani Jammu and a 60-year-old man from Shopping Centre Bakshi Nagar Jammu.

An official from SMHS said that a patient from Padshahi Bagh Srinagar who was admitted on 23 August and a patient from Litter Pulwama who was admitted a few days before died on Wednesday.

An official from SKIMS Soura said that a patient from Rainawari who was admitted on 24 August and a patient from Shampora Nowhatta who was admitted a few days before died on Wednesday.

An official from SKIMS JVC Bemina said that a patient from Narbal Budgam who was admitted on 09 August died on Wednesday.

An official from CD hospital Srinagar said that a patient from Fateh Kadal Srinagar who was admitted on 19 August died on Wednesday. 

An official from GMC Anantnag said that a patient from Sagam Kokernag and a patient from Panzer Shopian died at GMC Anantnag in last 24 hours. 

An official from Kulgam said that a patient from Panzath Qazigund who was admitted at DH Kulgam on 22 August died on way to SKIMS at Bijbehara. 

An official from DH Rajouri said that a patient from Rajouri town who was suffering from many ailments and was undergoing treatment since last many days died at GMC Rajouri. 

An official from GMC Jammu said that a patient from New plot who was admitted with bilateral pneumonia on 18 August, a patient from Nagbani Jammu who was admitted with hypertension, diabetes, Chronic Kidney Disease and other ailments on 21 August and a patient from Bakshi Nagar Jammu who was admitted on 23 August with Cholelithiasis, hypertension, morbid obesity and other ailments died at GMC Jammu in last 24 hours. 

With 13 more deaths, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 668 including 614 from Kashmir division and 54 from Jammu division—(KNO)
