COVID claims 13 more lives in J&K, toll 879

Srinagar : COVID-19, a deadly virus on Sunday claimed 13 more lives in Jammu and Kashmir, thus taking the toll of deaths due to Novel Coronavirus to 879 in the Union Territory. 

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that 13 patients who died include a 60-year-old man from Bemina Srinagar, a 65-year-old man from Budgam, a 68-year-old man from Matipora Budgam, a 20-year-old girl from Shadipora Bandipora, a 70-year-old man from Baramulla, a 70-year-old woman from Shangus Anantnag, an 80-year-old woman from Kandi Kotranka Rajouri, an 80-year-old man from Rajouri Town, an elderly man from Shastri Nagar Jammu, a 71-year-old man from Talab Tillo, a 45-year-old woman from Talab Tillo, a 33-year-old man from Kathua and a 60-year-old woman from Kishtwar. 

An official from SMHS said that a patient from Bemina who was admitted on 08 September with COPD and bilateral Pneumonia, a patient from Budgam who was admitted on 12 September with hypertension, diabetes, bilateral Pneumonia and a patient from Matipora Budgam who was admitted on 11 September with bilateral Pneumonia died on Sunday. 

An official from SKIMS said that a patient from Baramulla who was admitted on 12 September and a patient from Shadipora Bandipora who was admitted on 06 September died on Sunday.

An official from GMC Anantnag said that an elderly woman from Shangus Anantnag who was undergoing treatment from last many days died on Saturday evening. 

An official from Jammu said that two patients including a middle aged woman from Talab Tillo Jammu and an aged man from Shastri Nagar died on Sunday. 

An official from Rajouri said that two aged patients including a woman from Kandi Kotranka Rajouri and a man from Rajouri town died on Sunday. 

An official from Kathua told KNO that a young man from Kathua died on Sunday while as an official from Kishtwar said that an elderly woman from Kishtwar who died on 9th September was tested positive posthumously. 

With 13 more deaths, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 879 including from 728 Kashmir division and 151 from Jammu division—(KNO)
