Covid-19: Two deaths reported from Valley

Srinagar : A Covid-19 patient died of cardiac arrest here in Srinagar on Wednesday.

    With this death the number of patients who died of Covid-19 has reached 26. Among these 3 deaths were reported from Jammu.

   In Kashmir Valley, only one death has been attributed to Covid-19 directly, while rest of the deaths caused were having other additional factors.

   Nodal officer GMC Dr. Salim Khan told news agency KNT that a 55 years old male, resident of Fateh Kadal, was admitted at SMHS Hospital on 18 May and from there he was referred to CD Hospital.

   “The cause of the death of this Covid-19 patient was heart attack,” Dr Salim said adding that the deceased was 55 years old.

  Meanwhile, a 70 year old person who had died at GMC Anantnag here in South Kashmir was tested positive today. “The man hails from Sarnal area of Anantnag and had died in the hospital yesterday evening. His body was kept at mortuary and today his test was found positive,” Principal GMC Anantnag Dr Showkat Jeelani told KNT.

  He said the man was extremely sick and was suffering from pneumonia.

  “We have traced all his contacts who are being quarantined,” he added. (KNT)
