COVID-19: Three deaths, 119 fresh cases in J&K

50th case of mucormycosis confirmed, case tally at 338,990, death toll stands at 4,498, active cases reaches to 1,442, recovery rate at 98.25 percent

Srinagar : Jammu and Kashmir Monday reported three deaths and 119 fresh positive cases taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,442.

With three more deaths, the death toll in the UT stands at 4,498 and 119 fresh positive cases reported on Monday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 338,990.

Of the exact number of 338,990 cases, 213,356 are from Kashmir division and 125,634 from Jammu division. Officials told that among 119 new cases, 93 belong to Kashmir division while as 26 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 213,356 including 209,932 recoveries and 2,308 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 125,634 including 123,118 recoveries and 2,190 deaths

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,442 including 1,116 from Kashmir division and 326 from Jammu division.

With 215 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 333,050 which is 98.25 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 48 from Srinagar, 11 from Baramulla,06 from Budgam, 03 from Pulwama, 08 from Kupwara, 00 from Anantnag, 08 from Bandipora, 08 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 26 from Jammu division include 20 from Jammu, 02 from Udhampur, 01 from Rajouri, 02 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 01 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Meanwhile, authorities on Monday said that one fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and tally stands at 50.

As per officials figures, 77,994 positive cases including 874 deaths and 76,599 recoveries are from Srinagar, 25,707 including 290 deaths and 25,233 recoveries are from Baramulla, 24,361 including 24,046 recoveries and 213 deaths are from Budgam, 15,660 including 15,412 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,850 including 167 deaths and 14,613 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,700 including 16,479 recoveries and 207 deaths are from Anantnag, 10,099 cases including 9,924 and 107 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,843 including 10,668 recoveries and 80 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,527 including 11,403 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,615 including 5,555 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 53,867 including 52,526 recoveries and 1,154 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,452 including 11,306 recoveries and 138 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,353 including 11,098 recoveries and 238 deaths are from Rajouri, 7,982 including 7,808 recoveries and 134 deaths are from Doda, 9,370 including 9,203 recoveries and 152 deaths are from Kathua, 7,172 including 7,046 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 4,842 including 4,791 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,561 including 6,429 recoveries and 100 deaths are from Poonch, 6,059 including 5,990 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 6,976 including 6,921 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 4,836,465 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 6,871 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,442 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 4,394,179 persons have completed the surveillance period and 429,475 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 18,324,013 samples are available. Out of 18,324,013 the number of samples tested negative stands at 17,985,023 while as 338,990 have tested positive, among them 1,442 persons are active, 333,050 persons have recovered and 4,498 persons have died—(KNO)
