Recovery rate slips from 78 to 65 percent, Active cases over 18,000 in UT

Srinagar :Jammu and Kashmir on Monday witnessed another spurt as 1,229 cases of deadly virus including 84 travelers took the tally of total positive cases to 55,325 in the Union Territory.

Of the total 55,325 cases, 37,100 are from Kashmir and 18,225 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), among 1,229 new cases, 392 belong to Kashmir division while as 837 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 37,100 including 28,211 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 18,225 including 8,170 recoveries and 160 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 18,049 including 8,154 from Kashmir division and 9,895 from Jammu division.

With 644 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 36,381 which is 65.75 percent of the total cases which was over 78 percent few day before.

Notably, ist time since covid-19 outbreak, active cases have reached over 18 thousand in J&K and active cases in Jammu division are more than recovered cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 119 from Srinagar, 77 from Budgam, 16 from Baramulla, 40 from Pulwama, 24 from Anantnag, 17 from Kupwara, 45 from Bandipora, 02 from Kulgam, 43 from Ganderbal  and 08 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 837 from Jammu division include 392 from Jammu, 54 from Udhampur, 87 from Rajouri , 27 from Kuthua, 38 from Samba, 57 from Poonch, 14 from Ramban, 113 from Doda, 29 from Reasi and 26 from Kishtiwar,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 11,797 positive cases including 252 deaths and 9,614 recoveries are from Srinagar, 3,819 including 73 deaths and 2,354 recoveries are from Budgam, 3,495 including 2,415 recoveries and 113 deaths are from Baramulla, 3,059 including 2,682 recoveries and 62 deaths are from Pulwama, 2,919 including 54 deaths and 2,159 recoveries are from Anantnag, 2,863 including 1,886 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Kupwara, 2,883 cases including 1,932 and 29 deaths are from Bandipora, 2,093 including 1,921 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Kulgam, 2,146 including 1,557 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Ganderbal and 1,804 including 1,691 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 8,744 including 2,797 recoveries and 92 deaths are from Jammu district, 1,508 including 845 recoveries and 4 deaths are from Udhampur, 1,521 including 830 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Rajouri, 1,360 including 898 recoveries and 12 deaths are from Kathua, 1104 including 627 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Samba, 957 including 422 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Poonch, 839 including 653 recoveries and 01 death is from Ramban, 939 including 438 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Doda, 617 including 374 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Reasi and 636 including  286 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Kishtwar.

As per the daily information bulletin, 525,963 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 42,090 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 18,049 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 409,911 persons have completed surveillance period and 55,018 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,248,495 samples are available.

Out of 1,248,495 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,193,170 while 55,325 have tested positive, among them 18,049 are active and 37,100 persons have recovered—(KNO)
