Death toll reaches 2,023, Case tally mounts to 136,470; Recovery rate 94.03

Srinagar : The Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir continue to rise as 808 fresh positive cases were reported on Friday pushing the number of active cases near 6,115.

Four more deaths were reported in J&K in the last 24 hours taking the toll of deaths to 2,023 and active cases continue to increase and the recovery rate decreases with each passing day. 808 fresh positive cases reported on Friday pushed the tally of positive cases to 136,470.

Of the exact number of 136,470 cases, 81,854 are from Kashmir and 54,616 from Jammu division. Officials told that among 808 new cases, 525 belong to Kashmir division while as 283 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 81,854 including 76,372 recoveries and 1,276 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 54,616 including 51,960 recoveries and 747 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 6,115 including 4,206 from Kashmir division and 1,909 from Jammu division.

With 312 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 128,332 which is 94.03 percent of the total cases.

“525 cases tested positive in Kashmir include 299 from Srinagar, 96 from Baramulla, 30 from Budgam, 05 from Pulwama, 22 from Kupwara, 23 from Anantnag, 11 from Bandipora, 7 from Ganderbal, 10 from Kulgam and 08 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 283 from Jammu division include 164 from Jammu, 28 from Udhampur, 09 from Rajouri, 09 from Doda, 11 from Kathua, 09 from Samba, 17 from Kishtwar, 03 from Poonch, and 33 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 31,057 positive cases including 477 deaths and 28,421 recoveries are from Srinagar, 9,540 including 183 deaths and 8,600 recoveries are from Baramulla, 8,553 including 8,058 recoveries and 122 deaths are from Budgam, 6,063 including 5,837 recoveries and 92 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,959 including 97 deaths and 5,701 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,328 including 5,077 recoveries and 97 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,870 cases including 4,687 and 63 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,780 including 4,665 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,998 including 2,726 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,699 including 2,600 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 26,842 including 25,311 recoveries and 388 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,571 including 4,288 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,946 including 3,832 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,491 including 3,392 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,475 including 3,309 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,917 including 2,808 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Samba, 2,787 including 2,734 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,573 including 2,511 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Poonch, 2,171 including 2,131 recoveries and 23 deaths are from Ramban and 1,843 including 1,644 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 1,578,135 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 60,768 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 6,115 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,384,390 persons have completed surveillance period and 124,839 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 6,416,947 samples are available. Out of 6,416,947 the number of samples tested negative stands at 6,280,477 while as 136,470 have tested positive, among them 6,115 persons are active, 128,332 persons have recovered and 2,123 persons have died(KNO)
