COVID-19: J&K reports 144 fresh cases, no death reported in last 24 hours

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Saturday recorded144 fresh positive cases taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,159.

No death was reported in last 24 hours and the death toll in the UT stands at 4,401 and 144 fresh positive cases reported on Saturday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 324,095.

Of the exact number of 324,095 cases, 201,369 are from Kashmir division and 122,726 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 144 new cases, 97 belong to Kashmir division while as 47 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 201,369 including 198,399 recoveries and 2,240 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 122,726 including 120,136 recoveries and 2,161 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,159 including 730 from Kashmir division and 429 from Jammu division.

With 126 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 318,535 which is 98.29 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 31 from Srinagar, 08 from Baramulla, 03 from Budgam, 02 from Pulwama, 09 from Kupwara, 19 from Anantnag, 11 from Bandipora, 07 from Ganderbal, 06 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 47 from Jammu division include 13 from Jammu, 00 from Udhampur, 06 from Rajouri, 13 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 10 from Kishtwar, 01 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 04 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Meanwhile, authorities on Saturday said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and tally stands at 43.

As per officials figures, 71,954 positive cases including 834 deaths and 70,871 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,802 including 282 deaths and 23,447 recoveries are from Baramulla, 23,053 including 22,785 recoveries and 206 deaths are from Budgam, 15,276 including 15,053 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,201 including 166 deaths and 13,988 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,433 including 16,161 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,597 cases including 9,435 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,065 including 9,918 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,395 including 11,210 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,593 including 5,531 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 52,960 including 51,707 recoveries and 1,142 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,374 including 11,217 recoveries and 137 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,066 including 10,777 recoveries and 231 deaths are from Rajouri, 7,467 including 7,275 recoveries and 129 deaths are from Doda, 9,275 including 9,120 recoveries and 151 deaths are from Kathua, 7,133 including 7,007 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 4,732 including 4,652 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,303 including 6,180 recoveries and 97 deaths are from Poonch, 5,984 including 5,910 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 6,432 including 6,292 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 3,120,581 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 8,891 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,159 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 2,685,600 persons have completed the surveillance period and 420,530 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 12,860,541 samples are available. Out of 12,860,541 the number of samples tested negative stands at 12,536,446 while as 324,095 have tested positive, among them 1,159 persons are active, 318,535 persons have recovered and 4,401 persons have died—(KNO)
