Srinagar : COVID-19 on Monday claimed 11 more lives including a former Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) and Retired Naib Tehsildar in Jammu and Kashmir, thus taking the toll of deaths due to Novel Coronavirus to 808 in the Union Territory. The death toll also crossed 700-mark in Kashmir Valley.
Official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that 11 patients who died include a 55-year-old woman from Boniyar Uri, a 70-year-old man from Watargam Baramulla, a 70-year-old man from Khrew Pulwama, a 63-year-old woman from Tral Pulwama, a 73-year-old man from Paranpillan Uri Baramulla, a 78-year-old man and 58-year-old woman from Jammu City, former MLA from Kalakote Rajouri, a 75-year-old man from Surankote Poonch, a retired Naib Tehsildar from Kathua and a male patient from Bhaderwah.
An official from SMHS said that a patient from Boniyar Uri who was admitted on 05 September, a patient from Watergam Baramulla who was admitted a few days before and a patient from Khrew Pulwama who was admitted on 03 September died on Monday.
An official from JVC SKIMS Bemina said that a patient from Tral who was admitted on 01 September died on Monday.
An official SKIMS Soura said that a patient from Paranpillan Uri Baramulla who was admitted on 04 September died on Monday.
An official from Jammu division said that an elderly man and woman from Jammu city, a 65-year-old former MLA from Kalakote Rajouri, a 75-year-old man from Surankote Poonch who was admitted in a private hospital, a 72-year-old retired Naib Tehsildar from Kathua and a man from Bhaderwah died on Monday.
With 11 more fatalities, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 808 including 701 from Kashmir division and 107 from Jammu division—(KNO)
