Srinagar :COVID-19 on Saturday claimed 21 more lives in Jammu and Kashmir, thus taking the toll of deaths due to Novel Coronavirus to 779 in the Union Territory.
Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that 21 patients who died include a 32-year-old woman from Fethapora Anantnag, a 65-year-old man from Lal Bazar Srinagar, a 56-year-old man from Indra Nagar Srinagar, a 65-year-old woman from Sangran Qazigund, a 65-year-old woman from Beerwah Budgam, a male patient from West Bengal, a 75-year-old man from Doabgah Sopore, a 68-year-old woman from Pulwama, five male patients from Jammu district, four including two male and two female patients from Kathua and one each from Udhampur, Doda, Rajouri and Poonch.
An official from SKIMS Soura said that a patient from Fatehpur Anantnag who was admitted on 15 August, a patient from Lal Bazar who was admitted on 09 August, a patient from Indra Nagar who was admitted on 06 August and a patient from Beerwah Budgam who was admitted on 31 August died on Saturday.
An official from CD hospital said that a patient from Sangran Qazigund who was admitted on 31 August and a patient from Sopore who was admitted on 03 September with chronic kidney disease and sepsis died on Saturday.
An official from SMHS said that a patient from West Bengal admitted on 22 August and a patient from Pulwama who was admitted on 28 August died on Saturday.
He added that the recent reports of the patient from West Bengal were negative.
An official from Jammu division said that five male patients from Jammu including a 64-year-old male from Dansal Jammu, 50-year-old man from Nai Basti Jammu and accident victim of Akhnoor, four patients which includes a 67-year-old man from Kuthua, one male patient from Udhampur and one male patient from Doda died on Saturday.
He added that a 65-year-old man from Nowshera Rajouri who was tested positive two days before and an 80-year-old man Bafliaz Poonch who was admitted at SDH Suronkote Poonch died on way to Jammu.
With 21 fresh fatalities, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 779 including from 685 Kashmir division and 94 from Jammu division—(KNO)
