5 at CD lab, only 61 people test positive today; case tally reaches to 4346, 1500 recover in UT

Srinagar : After days of spike in the COVID positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (UT), only 61 cases including 27 traveller tested positive on Tuesday taking the number of total positive cases to 4346.
Today’s lowest figure comes after days of spurt in COVID positive cases which had added to the fear among the locals across the Valley. On Sunday, J&K recorded the highest number of positive cases at 620 in the 24 hours trigger a fresh wave of fear and panic among the people across the UT.
Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among new 61 new cases, 28 were tested positive at SKIMS, 5 at CD hospital, 11 at JVC Bemina, 3 at army’s Command hospital Udhampur and rest at other hospitals.
Among 61 new cases, 44 belong to Kashmir division while as 17 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 3407 including 1265 recoveries and 43 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division has reached to 939 including 241 recoveries and 5 deaths.
They added that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2792 including 2099 from Kashmir division and 693 from Jammu division while as total number of recoveries have reached to 1506 including 1265 Kashmir division and 241 from Jammu division.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 4 from Anantnag, 2 from Kulgam, 13 from Srinagar, 9 from Budgam, 7 from Kupwara,5 from Baramulla and 1 each from Bandipora ,Pulwama, Shopian and Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 17 from Jammu division include 4 each from Jammu and Kishtiwar, 3 each from Kuthua and Reasi, 2 from Ramban and one from Udhampur,” officials disclosed.
Dr G H Yatoo Nodal officer for covid-19 at SKIMS said that out of 1657 samples tested at the virology lab, 28 were found positive which includes 08 from Srinagar, 07 from Kupwara, 05 each from Baramulla and Anantnag, 02 from Bandipora and 01 from Shopian
Dr Reyaz Untoo Principal JVC Bemina said that out of 313 samples tested at the hospital, 11 from Budgam were found positive. The 11 patients include 4 from Warihama, 2 from Chaira and one each from Shankarpora, Bamrooda, Rafiabad, Tarhama and Shalina, he said.
Officials from Chest Disease hospital said that out of 257 samples tested at the hospital, 05 were found positive.
The five positive patients include 32 year old male from Tral Pulwama, 35 year old lady from Srinagar working at LD hospital, 26 year old female from Kanjikulla Yaripora Kulgam, 30 year old female from Agroo Kulgam and 50 year old male from Anantnag.
Lt Col Inam Danish Khan from Army’s Command hospital Udhampur said that out of 401 samples tested, 3 including 2 from Reasi and one from Doda were found positive.
As per officials figures, 583 positive cases including 06 deaths and 155 recoveries are from Kulgam, 487 including 09 deaths and 121 recoveries are from Baramulla, 479 including 12 deaths and 146 recoveries are from Srinagar, 462 including 255 recoveries and 05 deaths are from Anantnag, 403 including 133 recoveries and 04 deaths are from Shopian, 357 including 198 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Kupwara, 225 including 136 recoveries and one death is from Bandipora, 209 including 78 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Budgam, 189 including 17 recoveries and 01 death are from Pulwama and 58 including 26 recoveries are from Ganderbal.
In Jammu division, 238 including 90 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Jammu district, 170 including 22 recoveries are from Ramban, 131 including 34 recoveries and 01 death is from Udhampur, 121 including 45 recoveries are from Kathua, 73 including 05 recoveries from Poonch, 63 including 23 recoveries from Samba, 57 including and 13 recoveries are from Rajouri, 42 including 01 death is from Doda, 23 including 03 recoveries are from Reasi and 21 including 04 recoveries are from Kishtwar.
As per the daily information bulletin, 219,178 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 41,154 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 2792 persons are in hospital isolation while as 33 persons are under hospital quarantine. According to the bulletin, 119,312 persons have completed surveillance period and 55,839 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 235,816 samples are available.
Out of 245,816 the number of samples tested negative stands at 231,470 while as 4346 have been tested positive, among them 2792 are active and 1506 persons have recovered and 48 persons have died—(KNO)
