Active cases over 2200 in J&K

Srinagar: The number of COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir Friday mounted to 3324 as seven pregnant women and five doctors were among 182 fresh cases that tested positive for the deadly virus.
Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that among new 182 new cases that were detected in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday,34 were tested positive at SKIMS, 64 at CD hospital, 13 at JVC Bemina, 62 at army command hospital Udhampur and rest at other hospitals.
Among 182 new cases, 108 belong to Kashmir division while as 74 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached to 2515 including 910 recoveries and 32 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division has reached to 809 including 176 recoveries and 4 deaths.
They added that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2202 including 1573 from Kashmir division and 629 from Jammu division.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 6 from Anantnag, 2 from Kulgam, 22 from Srinagar, 9 from Budgam, 13 from Kupwara, 42 from Shopian, 7 from Baramulla, 4 from Bandipora, 2 from Pulwama and 1 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 72 from Jammu division include include 12 from Jammu, 11 each from Ramban and Kuthua, 26 from Udhampur and 4 from Samba, 5 from Doda, 2 each from Poonch and Rajouri and one from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Dr G H Yatoo Nodal officer for covid-19 at SKIMS said that out of 2315 samples tested at the hospital, 34 were found positive including 12 from Kupwara, 05 from Srinagar, 04 from Bandipora, 02 each from Shopian and Baramulla and one each from Kulgam, Anantnag and Budgam.
Officials from JVC Bemina said that out of 300 samples tested at the hospital, 13 from Shopian were found positive. They said that positive patients are Vehil, Chatwatan, RaiKapan, Kapran and Meemander areas of district.
Officials at GMC Srinagar said that out of 2469 samples processed at CD hospital Lab 64 were found positive including two of resampling.
He said that positive patients include 18, 35 and 60 year old females and 28 and 37 year old male from Khanyar, 50 year old male from Shalimar, 24 and 59 year old males and 26 and 55 year old females from Rawalpora Srinagar, 55 and 53 year old males from PCR Srinagar, 28 year old pregnant lady from Natipora Srinagar, 37 year old lady from Lal Bazar, 55 year old male from HMT, 58 year of female from Batamallo, who died at SMHS on Thursday late night, 24 year old pregnant lady from Pajgam Kund, 62 year old female from Parigam Kulgam, 35 year old male from Dialgam, 34 old pregnant lady from Kokernag, 68 year old lady from KP road, 32 year old male from Bijbehara, 20 year female from Nilfan top Kokernag, 59 male from Police station Kupwara, 25 year old pregnant lady from Khanpora Baramulla, two ladies (resampling) and one male from Vankura Baramulla, 21 year old female from Baramulla, 94 and 65 year old males from Beerwah Budgam, 65 year old male from Beeru Mirpora, 30 year old female from Reshiepora Khag, 61 year male from Warihama Beerwah, 52 year old male from Pulwama, 35 year old male from Rajpora Pulwama, 35 year old male from Sonmarg, 28, 30, 35, 42 and 48 year old males from Pinjura Shopian, 38 year old male Sindoo Shirmal, 30 year old pregnant lady from Narpora Shopian, 30 year old male from Homhuna Shopian, 23 year old pregnant lady from Shed Cheq Shopian, 15, 23, 27, 30, 32, 35, 40 and 65 year old males and 18, 20, 22, 35 48 and 70 year old females from Bhangandar Shopian, 45 year old male from Police line Batpora Shopian, 32 year old pregnant lady from KeegamKeegam and 40 year old female from Shopian.
Lt Col Inam Danish Khan from Army’s Command Hospital Udhampur said that out of 969 pooled and 213 unpooled samples tested at the hospital, 62 were tested positive. Positive cases are from Poonch, Udhampur, Kuthua, Reasi, Ganderbal and other parts, he said.
Meanwhile with the death of 65 year old lady from Batamallo area of Srinagar, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory has reached to 36 including 32 from Kashmir division and four from Jammu division.
An official said that a 65-year-old lady from Batamallo was brought to SMHS on Thursday morning and she was having underlying ailments including pneumonia and died later. Her samples returned positive for Covid-19 late last night, he said.
Thirty six deaths include 5 from Anantnag, 4 from Kulgam, 9 from Srinagar, 7 from Baramulla, 3 from Shopian, 2 from Budgam and one each from Kupwara and Bandipora in Kashmir and two from Jammu and one each from Udhampur and Doda in Jammu division.
As per officials figures, 383 positive cases including five deaths and 155 recoveries are from Anantnag, 366 including nine deaths and 143 recoveries are from Srinagar, 364 including four deaths and 51 recoveries are from Kulgam, 331 including 82 recoveries and one death are from Kupwara, 308 including 104 recoveries and seven deaths are from Baramulla, 282 including 133 recoveries and three deaths are from Shopian, 180 including 136 recoveries and one death is from Bandipora, 138 including 67 recoveries and two deaths are from Budgam, 121 including 13 recoveries are from Pulwama and 42 including 13 recoveries are from Ganderbal
In Jammu division, 190 including 63 recoveries and two deaths are from Jammu district, 164 including 16 recoveries are from Ramban, 94 including 32 recoveries are from Kathua, 123 including 29 recoveries and one death are from Udhampur, 55 including 21 recoveries from Samba, 65 including two are from Poonch, 48 including 05 recoveries are from Rajouri, 18 including 03 recoveries are from Reasi, 17 including 04 recoveries are from Kishtwar, 35 including 01 recovery and one death are from Doda.
As per the daily information bulletin, 204,900 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 44,017 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 2202 persons are in hospital isolation while as 48 persons are under hospital quarantine.
According to the bulletin, 103,007 persons have completed surveillance period and 55,520 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 202,257 samples are available.
Out of 202,257 the number of samples tested negative stands at 198,933 while as 3224 have been tested positive, among them 2202 are active and 1086 persons have recovered and 36 persons have died –(KNO)
