Total cases 83,064, 1,313 deaths; recovery rate over 85 percent in UT

Srinagar: Signaling a dip in mortality rate in J&K, seven people died over the dreaded virus on Saturday pushing the death toll up to 1313 in the Union Territory while as 635 fresh cases were tested positive taking the tally of total cases up to 83064.
Of the total 83,064 cases, 49,781 are from Kashmir and 33,283 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 635 new cases, 400 belong to Kashmir division while as 235 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 49,781 including 42,808 recoveries and 889 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 33,283 including 28,147 recoveries and 424 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 10,796 including 6,084 from Kashmir division and 4,712 from Jammu division.
With 976 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 70,955 which is 85.42 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 173 from Srinagar, 50 from Budgam, 36 from Baramulla, 20 from Pulwama, 44 from Kupwara, 22 from Anantnag, 11 from Bandipora, 35 from Ganderbal, 05 from Kulgam and 04 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 235 from Jammu division include 109 from Jammu, 29 from Rajouri, 12 from Udhampur, 05 from Doda, 15 from Kathua, 14 from Poonch, 15 from Samba, 02 from Ramban, 29 from Kishtwar, and 05 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Notably, in the last 24 hours, seven persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include four from Kashmir division and three from Jammu division.
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include three from Srinagar and one from Baramulla in Kashmir division while as 03 from Jammu division include two from Jammu district and one from Rajouri.
As per officials figures, 16,504 positive cases including 315 deaths and 14,402 recoveries are from Srinagar, 5,350 including 89 deaths and 4,528 recoveries are from Budgam, 4,847 including 3,252 recoveries and 128 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,212 including 3,838 recoveries and 72 deaths are from Pulwama, 3,885 including 70 deaths and 3,188 recoveries are from Kupwara, 3,756 including 3,344 recoveries and 69 deaths are from Anantnag, 3,674 cases including 3,281 and 41 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,135 including 2,829 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,329 including 2,202 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,089 including 1,944 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 15,160 including 13,509 recoveries and 221 deaths are from Jammu district, 2,952 including 2,370 recoveries and 42 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,481 including 2,228 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,383 including 1,616 recoveries and 38 deaths are from Doda, 2,255 including 2,089 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Kathua, 1,981 including 1,237 recoveries and 20 deaths are from Poonch, 1,967 including 1,521 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Samba, 1,440 including 1,309 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Ramban, 1,515 including 1,277 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Kishtwar and 1,120 including 948 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 611,888 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 25,347 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 10,796 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 526,076 persons have completed surveillance period and 48,356 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,818,753 samples are available.
Out of 1,818,753 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,735,689 while 83,064 have tested positive, among them 10,796 are active, 70,955 persons have recovered and 1,313 persons have died—(KNO)
