Total cases 97,805, death toll 1,523 deaths; recovery rate over 92 percent in UT

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir today recorded six Covid-19 related deaths taking the death toll to 1,523 in the Union Territory while 581 positive cases were reported pushing the J&K tally up to 97,805.
Of the total 97,805 cases, 58,917 are from Kashmir and 38,888 from Jammu division. Officials told that among 581 new cases, 353 belong to Kashmir division while as 228 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 58,917 including 53,720 recoveries and 1,009 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 38,888 including 36,817 recoveries and 514 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,745 including 4,188 from Kashmir division and 1,557 from Jammu division.
With 632 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 90,537 which is 92.60 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 155 from Srinagar, 38 from Budgam, 54 from Baramulla, 08 from Pulwama, 26 from Kupwara, 06 from Anantnag, 09 from Bandipora, 23 from Ganderbal, 05 from Kulgam and 15 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 185 from Jammu division include 99 from Jammu, 09 from Rajouri, 09 from Udhampur, 10 from Doda, 10 from Kuthua, 05 from Poonch, 04 from Samba, 19 from Kishtiwar, 11 from Ramban and 09 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Notably, in the last 24 hours six persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include four from Kashmir division and two from Jammu division.
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include three from Srinagar and one from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as two deaths from Jammu division include one each from Kuthua and Ramban.
As per officials figures, 20,159 positive cases including 373 deaths and 18,412 recoveries are from Srinagar, 6,407 including 147 deaths and 5,078 recoveries are from Baramulla, 6,175 including 5,817 recoveries and 94 deaths are from Budgam, 4,745 including 4,487 recoveries and 83 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,613 including 73 deaths and 4,114 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,286 including 4,030 recoveries and 75 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,111 cases including 3,893 and 46 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,666 including 3,402 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,506 including 2,373 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,249 including 2,114 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 18,179 including 17,259 recoveries and 265 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,244 including 3,114 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,786 including 2,598 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,701 including 2,558 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Doda, 2,498 including 2,412 recoveries and 33 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,283 including 2,160 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,207 including 2,108 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Samba, 2,006 including 1,858 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,661 including 1,552 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Ramban and 1,323 including 1,198 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 664,883 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 15,401 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 5,745 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 598,655 persons have completed surveillance period and 43,559 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,439,196 samples are available.
Out of 2,439,196 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,341,391 while as 97,805 have tested positive, among them 5,745 are active, 90,537 persons have recovered and 1,523 persons have died—(KNO)
