COVID-19: 51 travelers among 525 fresh cases, J&K tally mounts to 38,223

Recovery rate over 77 percent in UT

Srinagar : Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday recorded 525 fresh cases of Covid-19 pandemic including 51 travelers taking the total number of positive cases to 38,223 in the Union Territory.

Of the total 38,223 cases, 29,201 are from Kashmir and 9,022 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), among 525 new cases, 284 belong to Kashmir division while as 241 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 29,201 including 22,850 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 9,022 including 6,634 recoveries and 70 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 8,022 including 5,704 from Kashmir division and 2,318 from Jammu division.

With 469  more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 29,484 which is 77.13 percent of the total cases.

Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 9,368 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 9,022 “Cases tested positive in J&K include 95 from Srinagar, 14 from Baramulla, 36 from Pulwama, 17 from Budgam, 26 from Anantnag, 28 from Bandipora, 23 from Kupwara, 09 from Kulgam, 02 from Shopian and 34 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 241 from Jammu division include 121 from Jammu, 19 from Rajouri, 28 from Kuthua, 04 from Udhampur, 12 from Samba, 13 from Doda, 20 from Poonch, 12 from Reasi and 12 from Kishtiwar,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 9,368 positive cases including 223 deaths and 7,634 recoveries are from Srinagar, 2,840 including 100 deaths and 2,249 recoveries are from Baramulla, 2,684 including 2,134 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Pulwama, 2,524 including 1,802 recoveries and 62 deaths are from Budgam, 2,358 including 50 deaths and 1,783 recoveries are from Anantnag, 2,208 including 1,474 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Bandipora, 2,117 cases including 1,474 and 48 deaths are from Kupwara, 1,934 including 1,720 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,701 including 1,586 recoveries and 28 deaths are from Bandipora and 1,467 including 994 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ganderbal.

In Jammu division, 3,409 including 2,084 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Jammu district, 920 including 769 recoveries and 05 deaths are from Rajouri, 932 including 707 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Kuthua, 841 including 682 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Udhampur, 724 including 557 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Samba, 654 including 635 recoveries and 01 death are from Ramban, 437 including 355 recoveries and 04 deaths are from Doda, 436  including 325 recoveries and 04 deaths are from Poonch, 407 including 335 recoveries are from Reasi and 262 including 185 recoveries and 01 death are from Kishtwar.

As per the daily information bulletin, 464,313 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 45,845 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 8,022 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 363,785 persons have completed surveillance period and 45,944 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 978,882 samples are available.

Out of 978,882 the number of samples tested negative stands at 940,659 while 38,223 have tested positive, among them 8,023 are active and 29,484 persons have recovered—(KNO)
