Srinagar : Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday said that 27 more persons were tested positive for covid-19 in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory taking pushing the tally up to 407 cases in UT.
Government spokesman Rohit Kansal in a tweet said that more 27 persons have tested positive in J&K, all of them are from Kashmir division. He further added that among 407 cases, 351 are from Kashmir division and 56 are from Jammu division
“27 new cases reported today. All from Kashmir Division. Total now 407. Jammu-56 and Kashmir-351,”Kansal Tweeted. Officials said that among new 27 cases, 25 were tested positive at Viral Diagnostic Lab of SKIMS and two at CD hospital Lab.
They said that 25 out of 489 samples were tested positive at SKIMS, among them 14 are from Hirpora Shopian, six from Bandipora, four from Muqam-e-Shahwali Kupwara and one from Sopore,” they said.
Dr G H Yatoo Nodal officer for Covid-19 at SKIMS told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that 25 persons were tested positive today at SKIMS and three patients were discharged from the hospital after their complete recovery.
Officials said that two persons, one each from Anantnag and Bandipora were tested positive at CD hospital Lab on Wednesday. Dr Salim Khan Nodal officer for Coronavirus at GMC Srinagar told KNO that in last 24 hours, 121 samples were tested at CD hospital Lab and among them 2 were tested positive.
He further added that 160 more samples were received at CD hospital today and reports of 46 samples are under process. Dr Tabasum Deputy Medical Superintendent at JLNM hospital told KNO that 25 patients are undergoing treatment at JLNM hospital, among them 24 are asymptomatic.
She added that on Thursday samples of few patients will be taken for repeated test. Officials from CD hospital said that two more patients recovered and were discharged.
“2 more Covid patients discharged from CD hospital … stay safe,” Tweeted Dr Naveed Shah HOD CD hospital told KNO. Dr Jameel Ahmad Mir, Medical superintendent at DH Pulwama said that 47 samples were taken on Wednesday at DH Pulwama and were sent for reports.
As per officials figures 79 positive cases including one death and 27 recoveries are from Srinagar, 97 including positive cases including 18 recoveries and one death are from Bandipora, 47 including two deaths and four recoveries are from Baramulla, 37 including six recoveries from Kupwara, 46 including six recoveries are from Shopian, 14 including two recoveries are from Ganderbal, 13 including nine recoveries are from Budgam, 6 are from Kulgam, 9 from Anantnag and all 3 recovered from Pulwama in Kashmir division.
In Jammu division, 26 including five recoveries are from Jammu district, 20 including one death and eight recoveries are from Udhampur, 4 from Samba and 4 from Rajouri including three recoveries and one from Kishtiwar who has also recovered.
As per the daily information bulletin 64,089 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 5806 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 310 persons are in hospital isolation while as 252 persons are under hospital quarantine.
According to the bulletin, 42,340 persons have completed surveillance period and 15,376 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 10,039 samples are available.
Out of 10,039 the number of samples tested negative stands at 9,632 while as 407 have been tested positive, among them 310 are active and 92 persons have recovered and 5 persons have died—(KNO)
