Total cases 84,031, 1,333 deaths; recovery rate over 86 percent in UT

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir today recorded 11 deaths due to the dreaded disease pushing the death toll up to 1333 while as positive cases showed a dip with only 398 cases testing positive for the virus taking the total number of positive cases in UT to 84031.
Of the total 84,031 cases, 50,382 are from Kashmir and 33,649 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 398 new cases, 239 belong to Kashmir division while as 159 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 50,382 including 43,564 recoveries and 899 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 33,649 including 29,142 recoveries and 434 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 9,992 including 5,919 from Kashmir division and 4,073 from Jammu division.
With 861 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 72,706 which is 86.52 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 106 from Srinagar, 38 from Budgam, 21 from Baramulla, 12 from Pulwama, 21 from Kupwara, 10 from Anantnag, 10 from Bandipora, 13 from Ganderbal, 01 from Kulgam and 07 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 159 from Jammu division include 113 from Jammu, 07 from Rajouri, 07 from Udhampur, 01 from Doda, 07 from Kuthua, 12 from Poonch, 11 from Samba, 0 from Kishtiwar, 01 from Ramban and 0 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Notably, in the last 24 hours, 11 persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include six from Kashmir division and five from Jammu division.
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include three from from Srinagar and one each from Pulwama, Anantnag and Bandipora in Kashmir division while as five deaths from Jammu division include three from Jammu district and one each from Doda and Poonch
As per officials figures, 16,756 positive cases including 319 deaths and 14,748 recoveries are from Srinagar, 5,437 including 89 deaths and 4,657 recoveries are from Budgam, 4,910 including 3,297 recoveries and 130 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,247 including 3,912 recoveries and 74 deaths are from Pulwama, 3,926 including 70 deaths and 3,235 recoveries are from Kupwara, 3,801 including 3,349 recoveries and 70 deaths are from Anantnag, 3,696 cases including 3,310 and 42 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,168 including 2,881 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,340 including 2,214 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,101 including 1,961 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 15,381 including 13,813 recoveries and 225 deaths are from Jammu district, 2,994 including 2,529 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,500 including 2,273 recoveries and 23 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,388 including 1,839 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Doda, 2,273 including 2,129 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,017 including 1,323 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 1,989 including 1,581 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Samba, 1,520 including 1,361 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Kishtiwar, 1,453 including 1,346 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Ramban and 1,134 including 948 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Reasi
As per the daily information bulletin, 615,610 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 25,024 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 9,992 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 530,021 persons have completed surveillance period and 49,240 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,854,486 samples are available.
Out of 1,854,486 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,770,455 while 84,031 have tested positive, among them 9,992 are active, 72,706 persons have recovered and 1,333 persons have died—(KNO)
