SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee will be participating in the upcoming Urban Local Body (ULB), Municipal polls in the state.
President JKPCC, G.A. Mir told a presser here that the party has decided to participate in the fray. “Will contest election to counter communal forces like BJP and RSS,” Mir said while announcing party decision, adding thwt they will fight ‘polls with full might’.
“We cannot afford Mayor from Nagpur hence appeal everyone to join hands with congress to defeat communal forces like BJP and RSS,” Mir said. Earlier Mir had said that the situation in valley is not conducive for conduct of polls.
National Conference, People’s Democratic Party and Communist Party of India, Marxist, have decided to boycott the polls citing turbulent security situation and ‘attempts to abrogate article 35A’ as reasons. (PTK)
