SRINAGAR : The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) in a meeting of Senior Party Functionaries & Prominent Leaders remembered Former Prime Late. Shri Rajiv Gandhi on his 28th death anniversary and paid floral tributes to departed leader.
The Party said that Martyrdom of Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi would continue to lead the Nation at the path of unity, harmony and development.
The meeting was presided over by J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A.Mir, who paid floral tributes to Rajiv Gandhi, recalling his selfless services and sacrifices to the Nation and said the departed leader shall always be remembered for the services he has rendered to people irrespective of their caste or religion.
Addressing the meeting G.A Mir described Rajiv Gandhi as a tallest leader of the Country under whose leadership the Nation touched the new heights in respect of development, education, science and technology etc, there was no looking back after Rajiv Ji introduced Computer Education bringing the Nation at par with other developing countries in the world, he said.
Rajiv Gandhi was the architect of Panchayat Raj System, who introduced Panchayat System in the country aiming to ensure development of the people at grass roots level, which proved a milestone in the over development of the poor and downtrodden section living in the country. It was his dream to bring the development at the door steps of common and poor people, G.A. Mir said.
Rajiv Gandhi was hailed as the father of Information Technology and Telecom revolution of India popularly known as architect of Digital India. It was under the Rule of Rajiv Ji that Centre for Development of telematics (C-Dot) was established in 1984 to develop state of the-art-telecommunication technology and meet the needs of the Indian telecommunication, G.A. Mir said
On this occasion Mir lashed out at BJP especially Narinder Modi who left no stone unturned out of desperation to defame Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi inorder to hide his utter failure on all fronts and said the baseless and false propaganda on the part of Modi wont change the reality that he (Narinder Modi) has damaged the economy and secular fabric of the Country to serve his dirty political ends, G.A Mir added an said that Nation would continue to miss Rajiv Gandhi, who contributed immensely to the overall development of the Country and people as well, even sacrificed his life for the Nation.
Congress also paid glowing tributes to Late. Mirwaiz Moulana Mohd Farooq and late. Abdul Gani Lone, who were martyred on same day, hailing their selfless services and sacrifices.
G.A. Mir while paying rich tributes to both Moulana Farooq and Abdul Gani Lone on their death anniversaries described them as visionaries and upright personalities, who also contributed immensely to the development of the State and people as well.
