SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) on Thursday declared the class 12th results. As per BOSE figures, the overall pass percentage is 61.44. The pass percentage of boys is 58.92 percent and that of girls is 64.31.
As many as 55163 students had appeared in the examination. “33893 students have qualified the exam,” said an official.
4040 student have to reappear while 17230 have failed. However Burn Hall Higher Secondary school Srinagar and SRM Welkin Higher Secondary school have bagged the first three positions in science stream in class 12 examination, results of which were declared today by Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education (BOSE).
Muhtashim Rafiqi of Burnhall school has got 494 (98.8%) marks out of 500 followed by Faheem Rashid who has scored 491 (98.2%) marks and Sabiya Syeed of SRM Welkin who has scored 490 (98%) marks and stood as third topper in science stream.
Meanwhile, the Nawakadal Girls Higher Secondary school in Downtown Srinagar has made its mark in commerce stream with three of its students bagging first positions.
The three students – Sehrish Nafiz, Tabish Noor and Zaira Bashir – have secured 1st position by scoring 485 marks.
In the 12th class examinations held LAST year, a total number of 55163 students had appeared, out of which 29331 were boys and 25823 were girls. While, 16612 girls have qualified, total number of 17281 boys have also qualified.
While, boys have registered 2522 failures and 9528 re-appears, girls have only 1518 failures and 7702 reappears registered.
Meanwhile, Galib guru, the son of 2001 parliament convict, Muhammad Afzal Guru who was hanged in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail on Feb 09, 2013 has secured distinction in class 12 examinations.
Galib who had earlier secured over 95 per cent in the matriculation has scored 441 marks and has secured distinction in the boards today, family said. Guru’s son has scored 94 in Environmental Science, 89 in Chemistry, 87 in Physics, 85 in Biology and 86 in General English.
The brother of slain Hizb commander, Burhan Muzaffar Wani whose killing resulted in 9 month long turmoil in the Valley has also secured distinction in Class 12 examination.
Muhammad Naveed Aalam, brother of slain Hizb commander has scored 387 marks has bagged distinction. He has scored 68 in General English, 86 in Physics, 76 in Chemistry, 79 in Biology and 79 in Environmental Science. (PTK)
