Clashes break out during CASO in north Kashmir’s Sopore

Sopore: Clashes have erupted in Tujjar area of this north Kashmir township, where government forces launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) this afternoon.

Groups of youth hit the streets in Tujjar Shareef and staged a protest when government forces were carrying out house-to-house searches in the area, witnesses told Kashmir Reader.

Government forces, they said lobbed tear smoke shells after angry protesters pelted them with stones.

“The clashes are going on in the area,” witnesses said.
