Srinagar : A Pre-dawn gunfight has started between militants and government forces in Manchowa area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Saturday.
As per reports, a joint team of Police, army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Monchuwa.
As the joint team of forces encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight.
A senior police officer also confirmed to GNS about exchange of firing between militants and security forces.
Meanwhile intermittent exchange of fire was going on till this report was being filed. (GNS)
