SRINAGAR : Casual labours, daily wagers associated with Agriculture department of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday staged a protest demonstration here demanding the fulfillment of their long pending demands.
Protestors said “We demand the timely payment, we have been working in the department from last two decades but our salaries were delayed from last three years.
“Our motive is to put these legal demands across the state administration under Governor Sayta Pal Malik, protesters said.
Mohd Yousuf Wani, the state president of Agriculture casual labours said “We will not follow the biometric system in our offices until our salaries are not being paid on time”.
He said that the casual labours are facing a lot of problems due to callous attitude of government towards them. “We don’t have any money to pay the tuition fee of our children as our wages are pending with the department,” he said.
The protesters requested the Governor Satya Pal Malik to look into the matter and release their pending wages. (PTK)
