JAMMU : J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said that review of second time stone pelting offenders was under consideration of her government.
Responding to the concern raised by MLC Mohammad Yasir Reshi in Legislative Council as what was government doing about those who had more than one FIRs in their name, Mehbooba said, “our government is currently reviewing the cases of first-time offenders.”
“We are engaging their parents and families so that these offenders, who are mostly youth, do not engage in such activities again,”
Mehbooba told the Legislative Council of state legislature. However, the CM added, “cases of second time stone pelting offenders is also under consideration of our government.”
The MLC had asked as what was government doing about those persons who “were involved in agitation/s and FIRs were registered against them but had shunned that path now”. (PTK)
