Srinagar: In a fire accident on 23rd July at the Industrial Estate Khunmoh, a corrugated cardboard boxes manufacturing unit M/s Valley Packings was completely gutted.
The Director Industries Mahmood Ahmad Shah alongwith the M.D SIDCO Ravinder Kumar visited the gutted unit today to take stock of the situation. The said unit had a capacity to produce 72 lac corrugated cardboard boxes per annum.
Both the Officers met with the local association of the unit holders. During the meeting the unit holders apprised the Officers about the various problems faced by them also they pointed out the previous fire accidents that had taken place at the estate and the lack of fire tenders at the fire and emergency services station located within the estate.
The Director Industries and Commerce and the M.D assured to take up the matter of non availability of the fire tenders at the station located within the estate with the Fire and Emergency Services Department and also stated that Fire Stations with necessary manpower need to be established at all the Industrial Estates across the state.
