Srinagar: In connection with ‘malpractices and fraud’ in Jammu Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC), the sleuths from Crime Branch Friday conducted raids in different of Kashmir Valley.
Pertinently, Crime Branch had started a probe after BJP leader Khalid Jahangir had alleged bungling in the Corporation during PDP-BJP rule when Nayeem Akhtar was the Minister from Roads and Buildings and Atul Daloo as its Managing Director.
The Corporation is accused of resorting to irregularities, backdoor appointments, nepotism and besides it is also accused of awarding contracts to those contractors close to power corridors.
Official sources told Kashmir News Trust that the raids were conducted in Ganderbal, Kupwara and Shopian districts.
An official from Crime Branch confirmed that raids were carried out but he declined to comment on what actually transpired during these raids. “We will share the details when time will come,” he added. (KNT)
