Poonch : A BSF officer and a girl were killed; 20 people including 8 armed forces personnel were injured in intense mortar shelling by Pakistani troops along LoC in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Monday.
Reports said that Pakistani army opened fire and attacked several Indian army posts in Kerni and Krishan Ghati sectors today afternoon.
Reports added that Mankote, Gulpur sector and Degwar areas also witnessed intense shelling from Pakistan Army creating panic. People ran for cover while authorities used ambulances to ferry injured.
An official said that over 20 people including 8 armed forces personnel sustained injuries. A BSF Inspector died in the hospital after sustaining injuries. A little girl among the injured later on also succumbed to her injuries. The official identified the victim as 5 year old Sobiya Sharif. (CNS)
