Three militants were killed on Saturday after government forces claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
A police official said that a gunfight broke out after the army challenged a group of militants at the LoC. He said the militants opened fire on the army, triggering off a gunfight.

Director General of Police, Shesh Paul Vaid, said in a tweet: “Three militants killed by Army while infiltrating in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara today.”
Senior Superintendent of police (SSP), Kupwara Shriram Ambarkar Dinkar said the exchange of fire has stopped. “According to preliminary details, three militants have been killed. Searches are going on in the area,” he said
Dinkar said that more details will be shared when the bodies are recovered.
