SRINAGAR: Broadcast & Multimedia Journalist Association (BMJA) Kashmir while hailing the Jammu & Kashmir Bank Chairman & CEO, Parvez Ahmad for initiating a financial scheme in favour of Journalists in the state said this financial assistance will be beneficial for the working journalist.
BMJA spokesperson said that the scheme is a welcome step of the bank as irrespective of certifications like accreditation, the loan will be available for journalists. Spokesperson said that they hope that the processing of the finance will made friendly, implemented effectively and accessible for smooth disbursement.
BMJA also appreciates the Bank Chairman’s insight on the outstanding performance and recognisation of local journalists on world level such as former BBC Urdu Editor Nayeema Ahmad Mahjoor, Twitter head Rahil Khursheed, Author Basharat Peer and many more.
BMJA believes that the Kashmir valley has no dearth of talent in media; however it requires logistic support to excel in the noble profession. Spokesperson added that the frequent disturbances in the Kashmir situation have rendered media fraternity to suffer in many aspects.
BJMA believes that there is need of extensive measures for the welfare of journalist community in the state. BMJA said that the media organizations, government and other autonomous societies, bodies have to work together for the upliftment of the journalist community.
