BJP manages paid crowd in Kulgam for election campaign program, promises other benefits to participants

SRINAGAR: Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) today organised a Mahila Morcha convention at Devsar in Kulgam district of south Kashmir on 8th April this month to campaign for it’s Lok Sabha candidate, Sofi Yousuf for Anantnag seat.

Since the south Kashmir is Militancy hit area of Jammu & Kashmir state, it has become difficult for BJP that has no takers in Kashmir region to attract voters or gatherings in it’s election campaigns. In a violation of Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines, there are reports that BJP is managing crowed in their election rallies that are being held under tight security arrangements against cash and other benefits.

Kashmir Patriot manages to talk to the people in the gathering who revealed that they were promised to be paid rupees 3000 each for their participation in the program.

The participants said, “Our children are qualified but unemployed. There are problems of latrins and shelters. They said they will solve these problems. That is why we are here. They first said they will give us 10000, 6000 rupees, then said will pay rupees 3000”.

Another participant said that they will give us 3000 rupees. When asked Cash or in account ?, He said, “No no, they will despite in our accounts”. Again asked whosoever come here today ?, He replied, “Yes, they also write our names to deposit the amount”.

Besides BJP’s Parliamentary candidate Sofi Yousuf all senior leaders of BJP’s Mahila Morcha were present on the occasion who were seeking votes for their candidate on the occasion . Among the present leaders were Vijaya Rahatkar ( National president Mahila Morcha ), Rashim Sood (National v.p.M.M),and Rajni Sethi (State President M.M).
