Bandipora : Zurimanz also known as “Bangladesh”, a small village situated on the embankments of Wular Lake is turning into a popular tourist destination in Bandipora.
Many villagers, hailing from the fishermen community, told that there is a huge influx of tourists who visit Zurimanz on a daily basis.
“The view here is totally amazing. I believe if this village is developed well and given the best facilities, more people will start visiting here,” a group of non-local tourists said.
Villagers of Zurimanz have expressed their dissatisfaction with the government’s lack of support in developing their village’s tourism potential.
They said that the government has been ignoring their pleas for support which could lead to more sustainable tourism opportunities in the future.
“They have not invested in basic infrastructure such as roads, healthcare, proper network connectivity and clean water supply,” said a local Ishfaq Ahmad.
An official said that the administration is gearing-up to cater to the footfall of tourists with more infrastructure and other facilities in the area—(KNO)
