Bandipora : The Nasoou-Mini secretariat road, which suffered extensive damage near Dar-ul-uloom Raheemiyyah last month due to incessant rains, remains in a state of disrepair, leading to severe hardships for commuters, people complained here on Saturday.
A local delegation told that the continuous rain caused extensive erosion, rendering the Nasoou-Mini secretariat road unfit for vehicles last month, has led to prolonged travel times for people trying to reach the Deputy Commissioner’s office or the District Hospital.
“Unfortunately, a month has passed now but the road has yet to be restored, leaving commuters in a state of inconvenience,” they said, adding that the detours not only increase travel time but also result in increased transportation costs for the already burdened commuters.
“It takes me double the time to reach the district hospital now. The long and tiring journey affects not only my well-being but also delays access to critical healthcare services,” lamented Shazia Bano, a patient from Arin who relies on the hospital for her medical needs.
“It’s incredibly frustrating to deal with the ongoing road closure. We have to take alternate routes, which are longer and more time-consuming. It has disrupted our daily routines and added unnecessary stress,” expressed Sameer Ahmed, a regular commuter from Nadihal who travels to the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
