BANDIPORA: Continuing its operation against alleged infiltrators, Army on Monday killed two more militants in Pannar Forest area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district. So far 4 militants and a soldier have been killed in the ongoing 10 days long operation. The operation according to Srinagar based Defense Spokesperson is under progress. He said that over a dozen militants are believed to be present in the dense forest area.
Six soldiers including an officer have been injured so far in the ongoing operation, said an official.
He added that a fresh gunfight between Government Forces and armed infiltrators broke out during wee hours on Monday resulting in the death of two militants. “A joint team of army’s 14 RR, 22 RR and Para Commandos are on job and all efforts are on to track down the infiltrators,” he said.
The operation was launched on June 9 when the militants and the government forces exchanged brief gunfire in Raynar forests adjacent to Panar area. (CNS)
