Srinagar: Reading out the all about 2,000-page order, the Babri Masjid demolition was not planned, a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Uttar Pradesh said today, acquitting all the accused, including BJP leaders LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti.

“They have been acquitted for lack of evidence,” said defence lawyer KK Mishra.

The verdict has come nearly 30 years after the Masjid was razed by a mob in Uttar Pradesh, leading to communal riots. Out of the 49 accused, 32 are alive today, while 17 have passed away, since 1992, when the Masjid was brought down by a crowd of thousands.

Unlawful elements were involved in the demolition of the Babri mosque, a special CBI court said this afternoon, as reported by news agency KDC.

The court added that the leaders tried to stop them and there’s not enough evidence against the accused. Babri Masjid demolition was not a criminal conspiracy court said. (KDC)
