Army pays tribute to Lance Naik Sandeep Singh

Srinagar: Army Tuesday paid tribute to soldier Lance Naik Sandeep Singh Sandeep Singh who was killed in Tanghdar gunfight with militants on Monday.

A ceremony led Army’s 15 Core Commander Lieutenant General Anil Kumar bhat was held at Badami Bagh Contonement area where rich tributes to slain soldier were paid.

Dilbag Singh, DGP J&K Police and representatives from various security agencies also joined in..

Late Lance Naik Sandeep Singh sustained bullet injuries during the fierce operation in Tangdhar sector of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district in which five militants were killed. He was provided immediate first aid and evacuated to 92 Base Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Lance Naik Sandeep Singh, was 30 years old and had joined the Army in 2007. He belonged to Village Kotla Khurd of Gurdaspur District of Punjab and is survived by his wife. (CNS)
