Anganwadi workers protests, demands pending salary

ANANTNAG: Scores of Anganwadi workers of Anantnag district stages a protest demonstration demanding release of their pending salaries today.

The workers alleged that successive state governments had not done anything in their interest. Hundreds of workers today took part in a protest near DC office Anantnag alleging indifferent attitude of authorities towards their plight.

They demanded release of pending salary for the last eight months. ”We have not got our salaries from last eight months” Said Haseena Sofi, President of Anganwadi Centers in Anantnag.

” Kashmir has been discriminated by the officials, other states of India are getting incentives and bonus every year but we don’t even get basic wages” She added.
