Party will fight polls with ‘full might’, says Raman Bhalla
Srinagar : All India Congress Committee (AICC) senior leader and party’s General Secretary (Organization), K C Venugopal on Thursday chaired a meeting of leaders from Jammu & Kashmir and discussed preparedness for the forthcoming assembly elections.
The meeting, the sources informed was attended by nearly a dozen leaders from J&K including G A Mir, Tariq Hameed Karra, JKPCC President Vikar Rasool Wani, Raman Bhalla, G N Monga and others. It was held at the party’s headquarters this evening.
J&K Congress Working President Raman Bhalla, confirming the meeting with AICC senior leader, said they were asked about the poll preparations in Jammu & Kashmir.
“We have informed the chair that the party will be contesting the elections with full might,” he said.
Bhalla, however, said that there was no discussion on the pre-poll alliance in Jammu & Kashmir as the decision in this regard will be taken by the party’s top brass only.
The preparations for conducting assembly polls have started, with a three-member high-level team of the Election Commission of India presently on a two-day visit to J&K to review the poll preparedness.—(KNO)
