SRINAGAR: Bhartiya Janata Party state spokesman Altaf Thakur today toured Tral area of Pulwama to take stock of the ongoing membership drive and to assess the issues people are confronted with. A series of delegations met Thakur and apprised him that the government land in Tral which at present is being used by the locals for grazing cattle should not be converted into a poultry farm as desired by the government and that the main and interior roads in the area be repaired on fast track basis.
Thakur, who was accompanied by Veer Saraf, organising secretary south kashmir, Malik Yaqoob, memnership drive incharge Pulwama, and Sajad Rana Co-incharge membership drive Pulwama, visited Diver and other areas of Tral.
Thakur said locals told him that government land (Khahcharai) at Chittergam, Tral was used for grazing cattle by the locals but government plans to construct poultry farm on the against the wish of locals. Thakur urged the concerned authorities not to annoy locals and instead let the land remain as it is in the public interest.
Thakur also appealed the concerned authorities to take up the repair work of roads in the area on fast track basis as people were facing immense problems due to bad roads that have developed potholes everywhere. (PTK)
