‘Srinagar bridges get facade lights, initiative started under Smart City’ Project’
Srinagar: As the part of smart city initiative few bridges in Srinagar are being facade lighted in order to beautify their appearance.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary told wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the work is done under the smart city project as in first phase the three bridges of Srinagar will get facade lights, as at present the work at Abdullah Bridge is completed and the work on two other bridges i.e. Budshah Bridge and Lal Mandi’s footbridge are yet to be completed.
The finalization of the first phase of work will be completed within a month from now and then the second phase of facade lightening will be taken accordingly just after the inauguration of the phase 1st. As the second phase of facade lightening includes nine bridges in the city.
According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the facade lightening of bridges comprises the facade formation through the light which falls on them and its direction and colour with appearance of facade altering with changing components of diffused and direct light.
“It actually uses the programmable luminaries to enhance facades in a creative manner using the seamless linear panels on the side of bridges to create a golden scene and RGB lights which wash on pillars in order to create different kinds of scenes,” an official said.
As the project uses about 21KV power backup and lasts up-to 10 hours to keep the show on during power outages. The facade lightening is designed in order to highlight the structural architecture by enhancing its aesthetic appeal and overall appearance. (KNO)
