SRINAGAR : A day after Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik made corrupt practices in Jammu & Kashmir Bank and other Government recruitment process during previous Peoples Democratic (PDP)-Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) public, several leaders of National Conference, Congress have demanded high-level investigation into the expose.

The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G A Mir have demanded a high-level investigation in the political backdoor appointments in the state. While talking to news Agency Press , Mir said that his party demands a “high-level probe under the monitoring of a High Court judge”, while Mir, too believes that the investigation should be initiated to “expose the culprits”.

“Now that the Governor Satya Pal Malik has publically spoken out about the backdoor appointments, we appeal that he should be adamant and a high level probe should be initiated,” he said.

As per Mir, investigations that take place in J&K never come to a logical conclusion, and hence, his party demands a “time bound probe”. “During the time of demonetisation, a cabinet minister appointed by the former government was caught red-handed with Rs 13 crore. We had come out on roads and demanded an investigation, but it was overlooked,” Mir recalled, adding: “Hence, a time bound investigation is must.”

He also slammed the former PDP-BJP government for misusing the job-posts for their own good. “While there are so many educated youth in the state unemployed, the former government shamelessly misused their power,” he said.

As per Mir, an investigation is the only way to “win the trust” of Kashmiri youth.

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) vice president and MLC Ghulam Nabi Monga hit out at PDP BJP over selection of political workers.

Monga while speaking to a news agency said that appointments of other blue eyed political worker in J&K bank prove that Govt have done everything for party.

“PDP-BJP changed entire selection list of J&K Bank to appoint party workers must be proved with in no time”, he said. He added, “Kashmiri youth who are taking up arms is the government’s failure. Those who sought votes for change have ruined the career of thousands of Kashmiri qualified youth”.

He added that Governor should give a proper time bond so that all the people involved in the scam can be punished.  “With in no time governor should name the persons and take serious action against such people”, he said.

On the other hand National Conference senior leader and MLA Sonawari Akbar Lone also hit out at PDP over selection of party worker in J&K bank.

Akbar Lone speaking to News agency  said “The move is illegal and against service and recruitment norms, arbitrary and smacks of nepotism,  favoritism. “It is a reward given to one person and injustice to qualified person who face the recruitment process and get ignored”, he said.

He added that “I already raised the issue in Assembly and governor should take serious action against such people.

Lone further added that the governor could resort to cancellation of a recruitment of JK Bank m, if there is any mischief. “When the entire selection is stinking, conceived in fraud. governor should remove all the people and take action against such people”, he said.

National Conference youth leader, Salman Sagar believes that a high-level investigation is the only way to prevent backdoor appointments in near future.

Sagar said, “Investigation will expose many such scams that have happened under the PDP-BJP government. The culprit should be  punished under law”.Sagar also slammed the Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB), terming it as the “most corrupt institute in the state”.

“If investigation is initiated, I don’t think there would be any JKSSB official that will come out clean. A high-level probe is a must,” he said. “Because of scamsters like these, the entire political spectrum is shamed”, he added. (PTK)
