Srinagar: Following the foot-steps of Home Minister, Mukhtar Abass Naqvi Thursday also targeted Peoples’ Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) calling it by names like ‘Gumrah Gang’, ‘Dying Gang’.
Naqvi who along with other BJP leaders arrived in Kashmir visited North Kashmir’s Kupwara district. While addressing party workers, Naqvi concentrated on the manifesto, agenda and policies of PAGD and attacked it from left, right and centre.
“PAGD was formed against the interest and wishes of people of Jammu and Kashmir. The leaders part of the PAGD know it well that their political careers are at fag end and to revive themselves, they has formed this Alliance which is death of destructive dynastic politics,” he said.
Mukhtar Abas Naqvi said that Article 370 was the biggest ‘stumbling block’ in the path of development in Jammu and Kashmir and those who are talking about its restoration are the real enemies of people. “They are playing politics knowing it well it won’t be restored.”
He claimed that injustice was done to people of Jammu and Kashmir over the years and people have now realized that there is a change in the atmosphere. “These leaders (PAGD) are themselves confused and don’t know what to do. There were some 890 laws that were not applicable to Jammu and Kashmir before the revocation of Article 370. Some backward classes and SC category people were not getting any benefit due to Article 370. After its revocation, they have started reaping benefits,” he claimed and added that now economic packages are reaching the people but earlier they were consumed by political families.
While talking to Reporters he said that land and forests have protection in Jammu and Kashmir and it will remain so. “No one will force the Gujjar community to leave the forests. Whosoever is living within forests will remain there,” he said. (KNT)
